We're delighted that the July edition of the online journal "Mythic Passages" is now up, featuring a reprint of Rachel Pollack's story from INTERFICTIONS, "Burning Beard: The Dreams and Visions of Joseph ben Jacob, Lord Viceroy of Egypt," with a thoughtful introduction written especially for the journal by INTERFICTIONS co-editor Delia Sherman. It begins, 'Rachel describes "Burning Beard" as "midrash punk." It is a Biblical story told in a distinctly un-Biblical voice. It is biography and philosophy and theology. It is interstitial fiction.. . . '
