Isabel Swift.

And Neil Gaiman.

(Had we but world enough and time for reminiscences, I could a tale or two unfold whose lightest word would harrow up thy soul, freeze thy young blood, make thy two eyes, like stars, start from their spheres, thy knotted and combined locks to part and each particular hair to stand on end, like quills upon the fretful porpentine.

But must go pack for Amherst, instead.)

You do realize that you just basically filled my personal fantasy with Neil Gaiman's comment, right?

And now I've been the copyeditor for my two favorite books from both you and Neil. (Alas, his dedication thanking me in Stardust was nixed at the publishers, for which I have never forgiven them). But yours still makes me smile every time I see the book on my show-off shelf. :-)

:O

*falls out of chair, stunned silent from exquisite description of Lack of Stories*

Wwwwwell, I suppose Neil Gaiman has just redeemed himself from any Hugo-induced fan-wrath. Lucky for him, he has excellent taste!

His publisher nixed his thanks?! Wahhhh! I guess there are advantages to flying under the radar at one's publisher, after all.

Congrats. That's a lovely comment by NG.

Btw, "fretful porpentine" is one of my favorite combinations of English words in the world, though hard to work into casual conversation.

That is so cool!

While I haven't read a ton of it, I am very fond of Neil's work, extrememly impressed with the remarkable scope of his talents, and now it's clear what excellent taste he has! Though I must admit that in terms of compelling female characters, Neverwhere could have used more of what Privilege had...

Wow. That Neil Gaiman comment...wow!

Also, I wanted to drop you a note about the place where I got that coat, and wasn't sure what the best place to do so was...so an LJ comment it is! http://www.fanplusfriend.com is the website, but their coat section (http://www.fanplusfriend.com/servlet/the-Gothic-Lolita-cln-Coats-%26-Jackets/Categories) is probably the best. The one I was clinging to despite the warm indoors last night was this one (http://www.fanplusfriend.com/servlet/the-163/Elegant-Gothic-Aristocrat-cln--Embellished-dsh-vest/Detail)....

I have a bit of a coat problem.

Hah! I stumped ya!

I wish I could claim the credit, but that would make me some 450 years old . . . Google 4 of your favorite words in sequence, and you'll find the Onlie True Begetter of the fretful porpentine.
