I just wanted to wish you a happy New Year, and thank you again for enriching the world with your words. May this new year bring you joy and health and the winning lottery numbers. xoxoxo -Gwyn
If you love Marlowe, you should come down to Washington, DC! The Shakespeare Theatre company is doing both Edward II and Tamburlaine, very lavishly. I'd suggest the well-reviewed Edward (closing 1/6) rather than the Avery Brooks' massive Tamburlaine (heavy on epic gore).
Were I there, I would too. It's a good play, possibly Marlowe's best.
The concept of this production sounds a lot like that of one in (wouldn't you know it) San Francisco a few years ago, which I did see and which was well worth the seeing, even without any extracurricular interest.
I really enjoyed this production. Full frontal nudity aside (*grin*) it was lewd, charismatic, magnetic and basically awesome. One of the most fun theater experiences I've had in some time.
