Interstitial Arts Foundation
Dec. 31st, 2007 10:28 amMy esteemed colleague
yswilce reminds us that SFWAns are enjoined to cast their votes for Nebula Nominations, which close tonight at midnight, Dec. 31st. But even if you're not in SFWA, you have a chance to make a difference in the arts this year by Dec. 31st by joining the Interstitial Arts Foundation. $25 makes you a member (or renews your membership), and gets your name up on our Friends of IAF list with a link to your blog or homepage if you like.
Yeah, I know, it's that time again: worthy causes all asking for your financial support, as we try to balance our books for 2007 - with the added incentive of a tax deduction . . . You'll thank me in April! And consider all that the IAF has accomplished in 2007:
* Publication of Interfictions: An Anthology of Interstitial Writing. “A phenomenal collection . . . engrossing and provocative!” – Hipster Bookclub. . . “Belongs on the nightstand of anyone interested in the development of contemporary short fiction.” – Michael Bishop, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
* Two Interstitial Salons, hosted by intrepid members of the IAF board of directors on our Discussion Board.
* The Interfictions blog posted five monthly podcasts
* Four new IAF banners for your blog/website
* Organized two Interstitial panels at New York's MoCCA (Museum of Comics and Cartoon Art) lecture series
* Events and panels at Readercon, Worldcon, and WisCon, and appearances at national juried crafts & art shows, and Sponsored interstitial readings across the US
* Featured in a 12-page color spread in Faerie Magazine
* Submitted grant proposals for the first big Interstitial Art show
We see the IAF as a powerful engine for change in the way that the world categorizes and consumes all sorts of art - and for connecting and encouraging those who "color outside the lines." But to continue doing that, we need your help. If interstitial art is important to you, please make a donation today, and help the IAF keep that idea alive. Please consider your IAF Friend-ship right now by making a new donation via Click&Pledge on our website.
