. . . And with only 24 hours to go, she remembers to cast her Final Ballot for this year's Nebula Awards (how I love deadlines) - stopping only to note that, of the nominees she's actually read and loved, almost all are in the Novelette category, competing with Delia's wonderful story "Fiddler of Bayou Teche" - oh, Cruel Fate! And in the same list is Terry Bramlett's "Child, Maiden, Woman, Crone" - which he tells me was inspired by one of my Sound & Spirit radio shows!!: "Driving home from the Mississippi Delta one night, I listened to your program and you told of Changing Woman from the heritage of the Navajo Nation. Changing Woman intrigued me so much that I did some (a lot) research and wrote the 10,000 word story over a two day period. It sold to Baen's Universe about a year later." Is that awesome (and weird), or what? (The show he heard was CYCLES - you can listen online if you want.)

You can read many of this year's nominees online.

Delia & I are going to the Awards Weekend in Austin, TX (April 25-27). God knows what I will wear.
