Here's where to find me for the next couple of months:

Tuesday, October 18
Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts
Thomas the Rhymer performance with fiddler Joe Kessler
Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant and Music Club
Am I thrilled to death or what?! Here's why:

I can't believe it - after years of being the biggest fan of New England's finest folk, blues & roots venue, I'm booked to perform there on Tuesday, October 18th at 8:30 p.m.! Fiddler Joe Kessler (yes, the brilliant maniac who plays in the "Esther" show) will be joining me for an evening's live performance based on my novel THOMAS THE RHYMER: "an evening of lush narrative woven in with fiddle music, ballads and more." Yes, I'll be singing & playing guitar as well as reading. Take my word for it - Johnny D's really is the greatest: the food is so good it's worth coming early for dinner, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. If you've never been there you'll want to return. Here are a couple other upcoming acts "Rhymer" fans might also like: Oct. 13- Tannahill Weavers; Oct. 19- Peggy Seeger.

Oh, good! Me, too. We are really looking forward to our workshop; we love to teach and talk about text and how to manipulate it (always for the Good, of course...!).

Since I've been under some kind of self-imposed house arrest since the semester started, and have a passion for fiddle music, I'm thinking that the Johnny D's show sounds like a really good time. Do they serve good beer there? If so, I might be able to drag my husband along too this time...

Johnny D's is celebrated for its beer! Great stuff on draft (incuding cider and seasonal local ales), and obscure stuff in bottles. Hope to see you - good luck with your work!
