-- Oh, and check out the silkwork of [livejournal.com profile] p_zeitgeist - and see if you can figure out which of the headless models for her fabulous pieces is in fact Your Humble Servant . . . . !

And everyone please admire my grit and determination, as I sit here in the Fisherman's Friend in Stonington (which for some reason has great wireless) eating broiled haddock & mashed potatoes, when fried both would taste so very much better - and be so very much worse for my waistline!

Geeee... I dunno.... }:P

50.00 is the starting bid only, I hope. Otherwise, she's vastly underpricing her gorgeous work! }:)

That's putting it mildly! But sometimes a low minimum bid goes wayyyy up - I suspect hers will.

Now if only she'd put up a @#% web page so people can start commissioning pieces!

No kidding!
It seems several who hand dye silks over there (and the one who uses natural dyeing!) severely underprice themselves! Hand dyed silks using natural dyes, go for 75-100.00 on Etsy. Heck, mine using Procion MX dyes, start at 45.00 and go up from there.

I dropped a hint about Etsy, at least.}:)

Thanks; I appreciate the vote of confidence. Not to worry, though: the low opening bid is because it's for charity. In my experience a relatively low starting price is a good way to not scare people off bidding at all. And the other dyers who've put stuff up may have had the same thought.

You're right about the online business, though. I really, really need to get that sorted out.

Intensely beautiful colors on the pieces shown!

"Capelet" makes me think of a willowy 1930's platinum-blonde superheroine wearing something skin-tight, neck-high, white, completely covered with sequins. One of these silk nothings would waft around her shoulders. (Deep indigo.) Naturally she must wear evening gloves... Maybe her name would be Lightning Bolt. She'd have an electric-shock-delivering rhinestone-covered cigarette holder.

wow. That's utterly gorgeous and I'm very tempted to bid except - where would I *wear* such a thing? And I do wish there was a shop so I could drool some more...

*drops back into lurking*
