Got tins?

Before we moved to NYC (from a house in Boston, almost 2 yrs ago, and I'm still traumatized), Delia made me throw out all our old Twinings etc. tea tins: "What will we need these for?" Well, now I've found a great supply of loose teas (Porto Rico, in the Village, more famous for coffee, but!), and I need to stack them neatly in the cupboard. In tea tins.

Anyone have any empties to spare?

I can, in return, offer you many 3.5 oz bags of La Serena roasted chestnuts, the world's most perfect snack (discovered at the kiosks in Japanese train stations), as I have just found an Indian grocery store in Queens that carries them at very reasonable rates!

Obviously, it would be best if we could do an actual physical handoff, either in the City or at Wiscon (or the Nebs, I guess).

ADDED: Got 'em! And thank you all so very much.

OK, whoever I promised this link to a week or two ago: Here it is!

One of them is right near Cleveland; the others are clustered around the rest of the Great Lakes - collect 'em all! trade with your friends! There is a list at the bottom of the second page. The houses are all "Usonians, smaller, simpler and designed toward the end of Wright’s career for the middle class." For some reason, everyone we mention this to already knew what "Usonians" meant. Except me.

Weirdly enough, the exact day before this article came out, some friends rented one of these to go stay in after Wiscon. We figure on getting lots of cooking - I mean writing - done for a few days.
