Coming in 2011
Mar. 1st, 2011 05:56 pmIn the spirit of the goddess Procrastinatia, whom I worshiped greatly in my youth:
While updating my website, I realized I never wrote that
"It's January 1 and here's what I've got coming out this coming year" post.
So here it is. (March 1 - not all that late, right?)
SHORT STORIES coming in 2011:
"The Man with the Knives" (Published 2010, but REPRINTED in:)
The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year: Volume 5, ed. Jonathan Strahan San Francisco: Night Shade Books, March 2011.
"History"
Teeth, ed. Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling, New York: Harper Collins, 4/5/2011.
"Welcome to Bordertown" (with Terri Windling)
Welcome to Bordertown, ed. Holly Black & Ellen Kushner, New York: Random House, 5/24/ 2011
"The Duke of Riverside"
Naked City: Tales of New Urban Fantasy, ed. Ellen Datlow, New York: St Martin's, 7/5/2011.
. . . and coming in 2012 (just sold this story, very excited!):
"The Three-fold World"
Under My Hat, ed. Jonathan Strahan
New York: Random House, 2012.
In April, a radio drama I co-wrote, called "The Witches of Lublin," will air on many stations as a Passover holiday special. CD & audio books versions will also be for sale around then.
May 24 sees the publication of a project dear to my heart: WELCOME TO BORDERTOWN (Random House), co-edited by Holly Black & me. It's a return to the "shared world" urban fantasy setting of runaway kids and elves that Terri Windling created in the 1980s. There have been 4 anthologies so far; this will be the 5th, and I'll have had a story in every one! Other authors in this one include Cory Doctorow, Annette Curtis Klause, Neil Gaiman, Jane Yolen & more amazing folks.
In June & July, I'll be in Roanoke, VA, being Writer-in-Residence at Hollins U.'s summer MA program in children's literature. I'll also be keynote speaker (with Delia Sherman) at the Children's Literature Association there on June 24th.
Various cons & other gigs also upcoming . . . but I'll save those for another post.
