Can you blame me for being nervous?
I'm a confident & experienced moderator* - but this was my first foray into Comics. And at the prestigious, high-profile Brooklyn Book Festival, no less! Lev Grossman's unexpected commendation gave me heart - and upped the stakes(!)....
But, as you can see in this** terrific writeup of the panel (which took place last Sunday, Sept. 22), it all went well.
It was a thrill and an honor getting to hear Mark Siegel, Derek Kirk Kim, and Becky Cloonan talking about their work. There was a lot of wisdom to take away - I'm so glad ginaisabel wrote it all down!

* Years of moderating panels at SF/F conventions - especially Readercon, with its erudite guests - not to mention my own national public radio show, Sound & Spirit, and a number of live performances associated therewith. But I've always felt I was master of my subject matter - til now! But I Did My Research, to good effect.
