"Passing Strange" for all!

ellenkushnerAs you may recall, I was blown away by Stew's Broadway show, Passing Strange - here's my May 2008 post, with links. The show is really about an artist's attempts (not always successful) to come of age - and if you come from any family, culture or ethnic group where "our kind" doesn't do "that stuff" (whatever "us" and "that" may be), it resonates. I loved it so much I took Terri Windling & her fiancee when they were here, and she'd been hoping to take her step-daughter when she came for the wedding - but it had closed. Desolation!
But wait! Spike Lee has filmed Passing Strange. It's at Sundance right now, and, with any luck, will be at a theatre (or channel) near you for all to enjoy and be inspired by. Loud, loud cheers.
