A friend writes: "My son's friend just told me how much she loves your writing, which makes me very happy -- the misguided child thought she liked Stephanie Meyer until I turned her on to Privilege of the Sword."

Turning the Teenatariat since 2006, one brain at a time. . . .

Oh Hooray!

Which leads me to ask: just how much do you know about Twilight? Because if you haven't read or heard much about it, I would love to play "Horrify the Twilight n00b" with you.

(I spend a lot of time on Ravelry - knitting/crocheting community - and they have "agree" and "disagree" buttons for things. Which has carried over to LJ to a certain extent. I say this, because I'm about to mimic it.)

love +1

*G* Wait until the film it - they'll be loads of teen fans!

Go on then, who do you want in the cast, eh?

Considering I haven't been able to get more than a third of the way through Twilight so far, and devoured your book, I will say that this young woman seems like one of taste and discernment.

I have to say, and I hope you don't judge me for this, but Stephenie Meyer's writing is kind of like... Peeps. You know, those sugar chicks? But if Peeps were made of crack cocaine. They're absolutely horrible, weirdly addictive to some, and after you eat a box you feel disgusting. And anyone who says they're wonderful candy has obviously never had real candy.

Well, he'll never live up to the family name if he doesn't get the swing higher than that.

Independent, not studio, and probably European and/or Canadian co-production

Oh dear, let's not traumatize anyone!

I played that game last semester in my Women's Studies class. It was an entire thirty minutes of "Is she serious?" "She didn't really--?" "..... Oh god, my brain!"

If only you could lure all the Twilight readers away. That woman's prose makes my eyeballs bleed. (I won't even go into the actual content. ::shudders::)

PS - Thank you for the excuse to use my Twilight icon.

Ahahaha..."trauma" does not begin to describe what happens when the Twi-n00bs are told about what happens when Renesmee is born. Many a cry of "I cannot unsee that!" "There isn't enough brain bleach..." "WHAT!" and "HOW?!" have resounded through the halls of my goddaughter's school as she played this game with her senior HS batch.

:)

BRILLIANT idea! :O I don't know why I never thought of this before! I'll get my roommate to read TPOTS, and that will end Rob Pattenson's reign of terror in our dorm room!! Alec is at least eleven kinds of yummier! (Three weeks left of school, but still...) Where has my mind been? I push TPOTS on *everybody*! *facepalm*

She's a great girl, really, except for her deplorable taste in vampires. Our debates are legendary.
