Remember Delia's Necklace? I just got e-mail from the jeweler announcing a "Once in a Blue Moon" sale of all her work that runs til March 1st. This is not Delia's necklace, which is simpler, but it's in a similar vein.

I think this (http://www.aragonadesigns.com/12.html) is the one I want - would it suit, do you think? or am I just enamored of the title? - but we are saving all our $$ for bathroom tiles of more than Oriental splendor (or, as I described it to a rather scandalized cousin: "It'll be just like f**in' Chartres Cathedral with a bidet!").

That would look *magnificent* on you.

Also, in the friendliest way possible, you are an eeeeeeeeeeeeevil woman for posting this! I generally don't buy jewelry for myself, due to my, er, inner cheapskate (the one that screams "400% markup! You could buy the materials and make it yourself!"), but the markdowns on rings and earrings and the gorgeous "Carmen Veranda" necklace are *incredible* ... at this point, she's charging for materials and a literal pittance for her time. Talk about temptation ....

Oh, it'd suit you. It's just the sort of gold-and-smoke-and-pearl that's the translation of silver into richness. But Oriental splendor you can walk into trumps the kind that has to be put around your neck; the bathroom tiles are the better value. Also, I read that as "f***in' in Chartres Cathedral with a bidet", and what an image that was!

It's certainly affordable!

What a good thing you've got the expertise to be able to cost them for us! Listen, you can't be making your own jewelry all the time - a girl's gotta teach and write theses, after all . . . .
