ellenkushnerBeing married to a past WFC judge, I know how damn' hard they all work to come up with a really good ballot - so thank you, folks, for your time & eyeballs & horsetrading & hard work this year!
Kind of sad that "The Man with the Knives" didn't make the 2011 World Fantasy Nominees ballot - it's one of the pieces I'm most proud of having written, and I'd been hoping for a little notice, as Hugo & Nebs passed it by without a murmur - or hoping at least that Temporary Culture / Henry Wessells would get a "Special Award, Non-Pro" nomination for his body of work (including that and the Swanwick Mirlees & Cabell monographs, among others) . . . . but then I look at the list of nominees, all of which are just splendid, richly deserved, and think: There's only 5 slots for everything; what can ya do?
