I've been informed that the modern foil was originally developed to use for smallsword training....Ain't that something! Clearly I should've started Researching all this months ago....OTOH, that's never been my way - for years in radio, too, I just dart in, seize as many useful facts as I can, work with what I've got and create something from it. I'm kind of the Iron Chef of fiction (Hey - I should post that!): Just give me a few ingredients, and see what I can do with them. Because I'm easily overwhelmed by too much detail, it actually works well for me to limit my intake. Our conversation last week has prove tremendously seful - I'm basically using every point you were particularly passionate about (kind of like what we used to call the "hot tape" in a radio interview) and making it work for the story. Hope you're pleased with the result, when there is one.
