Just because I can't keep my website updated doesn't mean my publisher has the same problem. . . . Random House (Bantam/Spectra) has just posted a nice long excerpt consisting of Chapter One and the first half of Chapter Two, which is just about right, I think. You?

I already love it! Katherine seems like a wonderful character, and I'm very interested to see how her encounters w/Mad Alec will go.

You're welcome! :) I was surprised that I didn't see any promotion for it while I was at ALA last week. However, I did tell my friend and fellow-librarian who I was staying with that the book was coming out, and she was quite squeeful, since she hadn't heard.

Bantam doesn't seem to be seizing the initiative to promote the book - I think they're expecting it to happen by word-of-mouth - so thanks! It may also be that it hasn't been published yet - the divine [livejournal.com profile] sdn gave me a list of YA places to send copies to once it's out.

Another nice LJ-er (whose moniker I've forgotten again) was at ALA with a review copy, trying to promote it where she could - I'm sorry you didn't meet up - that would have been cool! I'll go ask her to stop by here, so you can meet her.

Yeah, that would have been cool! ALA is this immensely gigantic thing, and it would have been nice to hang out and chat with another fellow fan. I do hope everything works out well with the promotion of your book--it would be sad if people didn't read it because they didn't know it was there.

Hello! I was the other person at ALA -- though I fear I was in committee meetings for what seemed like forever, and giving programs the rest of the time (2 programs down, yay!). I'm sorry we didn't know ahead of time to look for each other. :)

I did take the book around and was talking it up to folks in YALSA, as that's mainly who I saw. :) Hopefully that did a bit of good to spread the word!
