I'll be a L.A.con in Anaheim from August 23-27 (will post my schedule next week).
After that, Delia & I push on to Seattle to visit family and to
read and sign at University Books
(University District Store, 4326 University Way NE) on
Wednesday, August 30th, 7 pm.
If you're going to be around that week and have some hanging out time, please let me know!

Ooh! Me! Me! I live not too far from Seattle and I have an extra bedroom should you need one (kitty foot warmers at no charge!). Will you be sticking around to do Bumbbershoot?

Didn't even know about Bumbershoot - but gotta get home, so no. Also can't do kitties - Delia's asthmatic, which puts a damper on things.... But can we meet up in Seattle that week before Sept. 1?

Absolutely! My schedule is open so let me know what works for you. How about a lunch or breakfast? Would you be ameanable to meeting a couple of folks from my writers group? Gosh, I haven't seen you or Delia in ages. Probably not since my Locus days. You can email me directly at shelly at clifthouse dot com---Bumbershoot is usually a lot of fun but I'm not that excited about this year's lineup. The large groups play in a huge stadium (lousey setting, poor acoustics) and I'm always wishing for more groups like West Valley Highway & Great Big Sea. I would like to see Sera Cahoone though...anyway. Are you interested in going to the SF museum? I, sadly, have never been.

Oooh yes! We'll also be at worldcon but returning immediately after and I'll have nothing but spare time. Alas, we also have cats so I guess you can't come here. But I'd be happy to native guide or have lunch or dinner or something. Or you know, [livejournal.com profile] shelly_rae is on my friends list but we've never met so combining would be fun too.

Oh, hey! I'm in Seattle for the summer and it would be great to catch up with you guys somewhere not as crazy as WisCon. At the moment I have all the time in the world, but I expect to be working by then.

Why does it seem like everytime an author I love is signing they're always signing somewhere in Florida and Cali? *sigh*

I would just like to say that I love you muchly so, and I just have one question for you. About the Privilege of the Sword, which is beautiful, by the way. Let me try to phrase it so I'm not giving out spoilers to anyone who has yet to read it...

Just *how* in the world did he go blind? Cataracts? He looked into an eclipse? Gimme a hint, I'm dying to know. :D But it's okay, he's still hot blind. And in the end, I suppose that's all that really matters. :D

OK, wacky schedule is finally starting to come together. We're not morning people - you can't get much sense out of us before 11 am - but we're always hungry. Can we all have a protracted (long and talky) lunch on Weds or Thurs? Plenty of people is fine - your call.

Hmm...Do I want to see the SF museum? Not sure. Will have to get back to you on that one. Meanwhile, let me know which day works best for you & your friends, and we'll go from there....

oh my goooosh!!! Yaay!!! I knew I got my car fixed for a reason! I'll be there! Can't wait to meet you! And yes, I couldn't keep the slow reading pace of TPOTS...I finished it last night...wowohwowohwowoh!!!! I re-started Swordspoint" again, but had a fit of the weeps because I remembered the last time I read the book I was reading the opening page to my Mom..who died April 1st this year...damn she loved that opening description! Kudos and much love.

Ohhhhh.....sweetness! I am so sorry about your mom. And I look forward to meeting you. DO NOT HESITATE to wave your LJ ID or quote your own posts to me til I remember who you are - I have a wretched memory, made worse at cons where I'm always running into people I cannot place but know I like - so if I gaze at you blankly with an amiable smile, just be aggressive and don't fret. I'm so glad you'll be there. (Must post that schedule soon!) Delighted you liked *all* of TPOTS! Do you suppose there will be chocolate in Anaheim?

By all that is holy...do NOT go to Anaheim if there is no chocolate!!!! I'm still miffed that S-boocks discontinued Chantico...heathens!!!!!

Alas, it is the way of our people: anything that we like is immediately discontinued.

SO NU?

Any thoughts on Weds. vs.Thurs. for lunch? Don't mean to be a noodge, but people are asking me when we can get together, and I'm making them all come to lunch together with you & mkk - hope that's OK! Just tell me when....

Oh Ellen, You're not a noodge at all. I was just daydreaming about velvet jackets, embroidered vests and soft leather boots...Since either day seems to work for us, let's do Wednesday. MKK any suggestions of a place for a largish group? I rather like Julia's in Wallingford, or one of the Dim Sum places in China Town might be good but I suspect you'e done more entertaining in the Seattle City limits than I have.

Might you like to join MKK, Shelly Rae & whoever else turns up for lunch on Wednesday? (see above) It would be great to have you there! I think Cynthia Ward (who just wrote that lovely SFREview review of TPOTS) might come, too.

I'd love to have lunch, but I have a real job these days and only get an hour (downtown). Of course, that will be two weeks from now, so I may have enough good credits by then to take the afternoon off (crosses fingers). Let me know how the scheduling shapes up.

Fingers very much crossed, then! Evenings are pretty much devoted to family (and of course the reading/signing on Weds. - hope we'll get a Sighting there if not before!). Enjoy the new job.

OK, MKK suggested The Coastal Kitchen (http://www.chowfoods.com/coastal/index.aspx) or Macarina Bakery (http://www.macrinabakery.com/). I'm bring three friends (and myself). Is 11:30 a good time? I suspect that The Coastal Kitchen has more room for a group. Any preferences there? I'll need to let folks know the details tomorrow cause Wednesday approachith!
