And now, the moment we have all been waiting for: May I have the drumroll, please? The Small Beer Press hardcover limited edition of The Privilege of the Sword is up and out! I will see my first copies tomorrow night at the University Books event in Seattle - meaning yes, there will be books there for you to buy and me to sign, even longdistance: if you'd like to order a personalized signed copy, either write to Duane at the store directly ( duanewsfbks@lycos.com ) or go to the store's site and order from there (you should be able to score a signed copy of whatever of Delia's or mine they have in stock - but write to Duane directly right away if you want something personalized).

Isn't the SBP cover lovely? It's a detail from a 16c portrait (of Charles IX of France) by Clouet - who is considered, most appropriately, an early Mannerist portraitist. Click on the cover and you'll get a bigger view. The book itself is stamped in silver, I believe - I'll let you know more when I see it myself!

Is Clouet getting royalties? (Just realized the double entendre.)

That is a magnificent cover.

Bounce-bounce-bounce

I didn't *quite* do a complete re-read of the boyfriend's-copy-that-he-bought-so-I-could-read-it, on the theory that I'd want to read my lovely hardcover once it came in...can't wait.

Oh, that's a lovely cover. As soon as I have moolah, I'm getting a copy for the bookshelf so I can drool over it. Then of course I'll need another copy that isn't quite so soggy.

I don't have an LJ account and so I apologise for my anonymity - I'm Victoria and I blog at Eve's Alexandria (http://evesalexandria.typepad.com).

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say a) the SBP cover *is* gorgeous, and b)the book is wonderful. I started it this morning and now only have 100 pages left. As good as Swordspoint I think, if not better. I don't want it to end. :-)

Sorry to take so long replying! Eve's Alexandria is just wonderful - thanks for letting me in on it. And thanks for the very thoughtful and insightful Swordspoint review there, too! (Was that you, or a different reviewer?) Do let me know if you review TPOTS, as well. I'll be very interested to see what you think.
