New York Events, but about art you'll like and can dig up wherever you are:

Dark of the Moon, a play I was deeply in love with in high school, is lyrical and old-fashioned and seldom revived. It's playing through March 18th off-off-B'way. The cast struggles valiantly to create a sense of Appalachian folk-ness, with lots of live music, some of it good. The doomed romantic supernatural lead, "Witch Boy," looks amazingly like a Charles Vess drawing.

Metalsmith extraordinaire Jim Kelso is giving a slide lecture at the Museum of Art and Design, NYC, March 22, 6 pm.

"Dark of the Moon" exists in printed form - you can probably put on just as good a production in your head as the one onstage here.

If I'm a Nebula winner in May, I'll get even more bossy, I promise!
