If you're going to be at IU, that's my alma mater and only about an hour from here. If you are flying into Indy and need transport / info / general help let me know.

Have fun in Atlanta!

When you get back to LJ-land, take a look at [livejournal.com profile] bards_and_beads, where TPOTS is our book of the month ;-)

Btw, Thanks for signing my book at the reading last night, it was really fun meeting you [again]!

Hello. Just sneaking in to say thankyou thankyou thankyou for Swordspoint. A friend (the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] moldava) sent me a copy ages ago and it's been sitting on my shelf waiting for the right moment, which duly arrived last Wednesday. Another friend has already gifted me with The fall of the kings though I'm wondering whether I should actually read The privilege of the sword first. I'm totally fascinated by this world and its people and totally in love with how you write them. Thank you again!

How very nice of you to drop in and say so! While each book was written to stand alone, if you're going to read them all the consensus from other readers seems to be that you should read them in "chronological" order: i.e., Swordspoint, Privilege, and Kings. There's a sort-of chronology here that might (or might not) make things more clear:

And thanks to _moldava_, too!

yeah, well, it keeps me from spending all my time sitting in a room staring at my keyboard . . . we know what *that* can do to a person!

How kind you are! (But then, I knew that.) Let me find out - I'm leaving Saturday morning to fly to Boston to do a lecture there on Sat. night (ah, the glamorous life!), and might need a ride to the Indy airport if the hotel shuttle is not good. (Plane is at 1 pm - doable? I don't want to put you out...)

I can offer transportation as well, if it's needed. (This is Marie Brennan, btw; I know usernames and other names often get disconnected from one another.) I'm right in Bloomington, and my schedule from Thursday afternoon onward is wide open.

It's easily doable... and the airport is on my side of the city :-) Email me your details and I can tell you more about where they've got you.
