ellenkushnerYou will, I feel sure, share in my disappointment that there is no band called MASTODON AGAINST ME! A copy of The Onion with an ad for an upcoming show at some sleazy venue or other has been lying on my bathroom floor (home of some truly great reading material) for days, now, and I've been very cheerful to think that someone has discovered the perfect band name. Imagine my disappointment when I finally read the actual ad and discovered that it was 2 groups, Mastodon and Against Me! Honestly. "Against Me!" - what a stupid name for a band. And "Mastodon" - how commonplace. Sigh. Where's the drama? The implicit narrative? "Mastodon Against Me" - now, that would have been something.
