Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] t_windling, for letting me know about the glorious recent entries on the Endicott Studio for Mythic Arts blog (and, well, blush, for writing them!).

June 9th displays the amazing cover art for the upcoming Russian translation of my novel Thomas the Rhymer as the jumping-off point for a discourse on novels & ballads (kind of a mini-version of the fantastic columns Terri regularly contributes to Realms of Fantasy magazine - many of which are then reprinted on the Endicott's Journal of Mythic Arts, all worth reading) - plus a quote from m e I don't remember having written down, but there it is.... There's also lots more gorgeous art on that page. I just want to wear that blog, sometimes!

June 13th is "The Privilege of the Pen" (oooh, love that title!), in which Terri riffs off my Nebula essay with more on confidence and lack thereof in writers - with insights from her years as an editor. (Many people do not know that, before she was a noted anthologist, young NY editor Terri was the person who "discovered" & published the first novels of beloved authors Charles de Lint, Patricia Wrede, Emma Bull, Delia Sherman & many others -- anyone else out there want to testify?)

Endicott is a real treasure - every single syllable, not to mention the pictures - a wealth of beauty and information - and I understand there is an LJ Feed for them, which I am simply too dumb to find . . . Help me, Rhonda? [LATER: And of course, [livejournal.com profile] casacorona did: She says go here and click on Add this feed to your friends list.]

I think this is the LJ feed for the Endicott blog (someone please correct me if I'm wrong): http://syndicated.livejournal.com/endicottstudio/profile

Those quotes from you and Delia actually come from a Very Old column for Realms of Fantasy on ballads and ballad-based fiction, some of which I re-worked into an Introduction for Charlie Vess's beautiful Book of Ballads.

That quote from Delia about an imagined ballad version of Beauty & the Beast absolutely slays me...

Actually, all you have to do is go here, and click "add feed".

Then you'll get the Endicott Studio in your friends list.

She bought my first novel too. Even though it was only half a book.

And a damned good thing, too!

See? Isn't she wonderful?

She's stupendous. It tends to render me speechless, mostly. Even if there were just her editing, or just her art, or just her writing, or just the Interstitial Arts Foundation, she would still be stupendous. But there's all of that and more.

Would it be completely inappropriate for me to say: OMG, Terri Windling has an LJ!!!? She is one of my heroes, and one of the inspirations for several things I have done creatively, including one of my best graduate papers on women writers reinterpreting fairy tales, and a number of the poems in the collection that was my MFA thesis.

*runs off to friend her immediately*
