Who can resist a title like that? Clea Simon, my old friend from Boston, describes her books thusly: My Theda Krakow mystery series features a cat-loving rock music critic. Theda’s life revolves around the Boston clubs — and around her rather pampered pet, Musetta, who was rescued in the first book of the series, MEW IS FOR MURDER In the latest, CATTERY ROW, Theda and her sidekick, shelter owner Violet, set out to solve a series of thefts of pedigreed cats — and clear the name of a friend. All my books involve real animal issues and while cats are prominent, they are real cats — they don’t talk or read. They’re just fine the way they are.

She's the featured author today (Wed., 8/15) at the Summer Mystery Reading Challenge, and says, I'll be answering questions and chatting all day on this book-review site. If you have a moment, drop by!

Hi folks! Thanks, Ellen, for crossposting. Wow - I share a name with a cat... I guess I should've known. Actually, Ellen, I have been meaning to email you because I just posted about "The Privilege of the Sword" over at "Beyond the Book," one of the PW blogs (blogger Barbara Vey had written about reading different genres, so I had to chime in).

By the way, and please excuse the BSP, if anyone wants to check out my writing (or my cat pix, or my blog, etc. etc. etc.) my home is at http://www.cleasimon.com . Stay cool!
