NIPPON (Japanese Worldcon) Schedule
Aug. 18th, 2007 04:27 pmThe complete Anglo schedule is here, and looks terrific. Here's my bits:
Thu 1600 Autographs
Participants: Ellen KUSHNER
Fri 1000 Teaching Writing
Participants: Ellen KUSHNER, Scott EDELMAN, Gay HALDEMAN
Fri 1600 Fantasy and Traditional Songs and Ballads
Participants: Ellen KUSHNER, Delia SHERMAN, Reiko HIKAWA, Hicaru TANAKA, Yasuko
Sat 1200 Readings
Participants: Ellen KUSHNER
Sat 1600 Thomas the Rhymer
Participants: Ellen KUSHNER
Ellen Kushner does an one woman show with music & storytelling, reading from the novel and accompanied by singing of the ballads that inspired it. For details: http://www.sff.net/people/kushnerSherman/Kushner/appearance.html
Sun 1200 Interstitial Arts Foundation
Participants: Alma ALEXANDER, Delia SHERMAN, Ellen KUSHNER
"Art that crosses boundaries." What does this mean? What does it include? Why does it need a Foundation? What can the Foundation accomplish? A talk about the Foundation, it's accomplishments and goals. http://www.interstitialarts.org/
Sun 1700 Kaffeeklatsche
Participants: Ellen KUSHNER
In addition, both Delia & I have been asked to present Hugos Awards at the big ceremony on Saturday night! I usually skip the Hugos, but in this case . . . An added inducement is that it will be co-hosted by the American actor George Takei, bless him. I always loved it when he took the helm of the Enterprise. I will not, however, be renting a full-dress kimono ($200+) for the ceremony, tempting though that is. I have perfectly nice formal wear of my own, thank you - I will bring my "Teapots" silk, which I wore to the Mythcon banquet (anyone got photos?), and which packs down pretty much into a walnutshell and will pass through the center of a gold ring. Except for the buttons.
