Does anyone know what the Japanese call ibuprofen (Advil)?

Due to a foot injury I thought I'd gotten over but haven't, I'm going to need much more than I brought (and I brought a lot!) to keep me hobbling over the next 2 weeks' adventures. They've gotta have it over here, right? It is the greatest drug since moldy bread!

The web tells me the generic name there is Anflagen or Ibugesic, in case you can't get any first hand info.

It is called nurofen over here and is in a silver packet. I found it in Thailand by the same name, similar packet but with Thai writing on it. No idea if they have it in Japan but worth a try if you see it.

Eve is one brand. Naron Ace is another ("na-rohn ehhs"), but I think it has caffeine in it. Apparently it only has 75mg of ibuprofen per pill, probably pretty standard there.

You can also ask in any pharmacy for イブプロフェン (it's pronounced roughly "ee-bu-puro-fehn"; if you want to copy down the Japanese, enlarge the font size several times so you can see all the teeny marks :)).

No problem! I still remember fuming in a Taiwanese drugstore (a Boots, weirdly enough) because I couldn't read well enough to find anything that I was sure didn't have codeine in it...Fun stuff! ;)

We've been buying something called Ringl IB which comes in a bluish box. Jordin found it by googling ibuprofen brand names Japan. It certainly seems to work like ibuprofen though the individual pills are 150mg rather than the 200mg Advil is. I just took 3.
