Thanks again for signing stuff for our friend rustica. It was interesting hearing what you had to say about teaching writing, and talking to you. I hope to give the book, card, and bookplates to her at Oxonmoot (http://www.tolkiensociety.org/oxon) (where I hope she will help me with tech).

I am beginning to understand what rustica sees in your writing. Maybe it is a help for me to have an idea of your voice, after meeting you. Howsoever that may be, I'm over half way through The Privilege of the Sword, and it has been a challenge not to cause further wear and tear because I keep needing to read while standing in line, then having to put it away relatively hurriedly.

Anyway, it seems you have gained another enthusiastic reader.

It was a real pleasure to meet you in Japan - what a remarkable world we all live in, to be able to say that! I'm really glad you like TPOTS, too. I think you're right about my voice - people have said that they read my books quite differently once they've heard me read them aloud. Enjoy! And give Rustica my best - I hope to meet her someday.
