IAF Salon #2: Comics
Dec. 9th, 2007 12:12 pmI am thoroughly enjoying our Cyrano discussion, and intend to continue it - what well-furnished brains you all have!
Speaking of which, the Interstitial Arts Foundation (of which I am a proud co-founder, and current Vice President) has just posted another Online Salon, inviting folks to join in a discussion (moderated by Kris McDermott a.k.a.
krismcd59 - yes, even she who created that hilarious Masque for the Wiscon opening ceremonies!) from now through Saturday, Dec. 15th.
The theme this time?
Comics online! Specifically "The Chemistry Set" – a collaborative product of some hot new comic book artist/writers - including Steven Goldman, Elizabeth Genco and others, who cheerfully admit, Sometimes we get beautiful synthesis. Sometimes we get explosions.
How could we not go for it, when Phillipine artist Andrew Drilon, in his "Mang Tomas the Story Hunter", has a panel where the Hero mutters, "INTERSTITIAL FICTION – KISS MY GUN!"
So head your brains on over to this month's Interstitial Salon (for this week only! hurry hurry hurry) to discuss comics, pop culture, the future, fusion, multiculturalism, and . . . well . . . playing in the Interstices of recognized genres. As always.
And tell your friends.

Date: 2007-12-09 07:50 pm (UTC)Kris got in touch with the ChemSet folks ahead of time - but it might be salutory to give them a poke today to let them know it's Underway - esp. Andrew D., for whom there is already a question on the Board. If you have contact info & poking time, could you?
