Red Bull Theater's NY production is da bomb! Plus tall naked skinny boys kissing onstage. It really is brilliantly conceived & directed - and that's all I'm gonna say here 'cause it's after midnight. The run has just been extended through Jan. 27th, and if you have any interest in Marlowe and dead kings and living theatre, you have to go see it. I think there are TDF tix and discounts at broadwaybox.com available. They are also offering staged "Revelation Readings" of some pretty cool stuff this month.

So can you get Madame Bear to come see it? I keep poking her, but so far there's a resounding silence from CT.

Oh, she should. I know there was a production in Washington not too long ago that was supposedly wonderful as well -- is this the same one, maybe? Why does everyone keep doing Edward II when I'm in England, I ask you? And why hasn't anyone done it here recently?

That being said, I think Bear's been very busy recently.

[livejournal.com profile] eternaleponine and I now have tickets for the matinee on the 26th. It was the not-suitable-for-minors part that made it irresistible. And, after all, I spent more on tickets for the Cure come June.

I have poked the Bear but only gotten a Maybe.

Can I invite you and Delia to dinner? Or maybe just come by to deliver Little Iced Cakes?

Drat - we just made complicated dinner plans with someone else for that night.

But would you like to come over before or after the show? We don't really have other plans that day, and are free til about 6:30, so tea/coffee here would be easy, or even lunch.

I've got a line on discount tix, if you or Bear need them.

Let's make further plans by e-mail; mine is listed on my Profile page.

I just saw it last night and was in the front row, which is totally the danger zone for reach out and touch the character who is about to get killed/tortured/maimed whatever. Wow. So intense and amazing!

Thank you so much for recommending it!

Though now I'm peeved at myself for missing "The Revenger's Tragedy" which I've wanted to see since reading Pamela Dean's "Tam Lin".

Plus I bearded Spencer in the stairwell and got him to sign my program.

Again, thank you so much for recommending this production!

Oh, yay! It is extraordinarily nice of you to let me know that you went and did enjoy it. Yeah, I hear their "Revenger's Tragedy" was da bomb, and I hate myself forever for having missed it. But I'm going to be keeping an eye on them from now on, and hope not to miss them again. We Antique Theatermanes gotta look out for each other!

Definitely! I signed up for their mailing list!

My next thing is, of course, Patrick Stewart in Macbeth at BAM. I've got my ticket for that already! Missed Sir Ian there, sadly, but YAY for Patrick Stewart! Are you going to that?

Huzzah for classical theatre!
