ellenkushner: (INTERFICTIONS)

Colleen Mondor's just posted a wonderful deep funny insightful interview with Delia - it's mostly about Changeling, worldbuilding, writing, and NYC, and almost as good as hearing Delia at a panel (if you're missing Wiscon, just sit in a cold room lit by fluorescent lights and read it aloud!) - and includes a link to her BookSlut rave review of Interfictions. Much love to Colleen!

I've just read CHANGELING, and I was blown away! While I snark on and on about bestselling authors and their peccadilloes, I stumble on this gem of a young adult novel which plays with all the tropes of fantasy and The Hero's Journey and the beloved icons of New York, and makes me laugh out loud along the way. It's simply a fabulous book, and surely a new YA classic, and it's beautifully written. Not a peccadillo in sight. Yum yum yum.

Much love for Louise!!

Hey, we really miss you this year at Wiscon - hope you come back soon.

I'm so impressed that you picked up on all that about CHANGELING - I've been disappointed that reviews (and awards committees, ahem!) have missed all that she's doing in that book. (Wanna send that quote to Sharyn? It's perfect as is. Gosh, you must be a Real Writer!)

I miss you guys, too! I'm definitely going to be there next year. I feel so left out.

I'll absolutely send the quote to Sharyn, with pleasure. Love to you both.
