of last week's post (gosh, was it only a week ago exactly?! Wotta life!):

Older Brain May be Wiser
We think our lack of focus & retention means we're losing it - but: "the aging brain is simply taking in more data and trying to sift through a clutter of information, often to its long-term benefit....It may be that distractibility is not, in fact, a bad thing . . . A broad attention span may enable older adults to ultimately know more about a situation . . . this characteristic may play a significant role in why we think of older people as wiser.”

If distraction means wisdom, then parents of small children must be the wisest of them all...even if we can't focus clearly enough to keep from running out of the house in our slippers half the time =)
