The delightful penguinkye, who first engaged me at Wiscon with her subtle appreciation of Things Riverside, and then showed how photogenic we all are at Readercon, has the best summer job in the world, working for Horn Book Magazine the venerable & esteemed children's & YA literature - where she has actually gotten her venerable boss sufficiently interested in fanfic that he has started talking about it on his blog already (thanks to Gwenda Bond for pointing that out). He's also asked her to find out more about fanfic & kid lit - if your interests lie there, you're invited to participate in her FANFIC SURVEY; she writes: Anything you can say will help me write a truer and more honest representation of fandom for a pretty big audience of people who mostly don't participate in it. This definitely makes me sound more awesome and powerful than I am. It was more along the lines of, "Haha! Sketchy fanfiction! You know about fanfiction? Hm. Do you want to write something about fanfiction? Yes, you do? Okay!"
