Drama in the Basement
Feb. 28th, 2012 12:35 amAnother fabulous day in the Basement in Brooklyn, recording The Privilege of the Sword ("TPOTS," pronounced "teapots") for Neil Gaiman Presents/ACX audiobooks. I'm going to miss this, when I'm done. Except for the Basement part. Such a ham, though . . . maybe, like Dickens, I can go on tour, reading aloud the most dramatic bits in Atheneums across our fine land.
Today I did the theater scene, and found a terrific voice for The Black Rose: kind of a Lynne Fontanne 30s star voice (I hope!). Viola Fine, for contrast, was kind of perky yet sportif: the kid sister who's always playing tennis out back. Really enjoyed all of Katherine's interior monologues. I do like this writer; hope she does more books for me to read!
