Spanish translations

Apparently my Spanish publisher (formerly Bibliopolis) has reorganized & renamed self as "Alamut" and is busily reissuing titles. How do I know all this? From my editor's FaceBook page! Where I read: Luis se prepara para reeditar A PUNTA DE ESPADA de Ellen Kushner en Alamut. Ah, nada como el olor de las reediciones por la mañana... . . which Google translates as: Luis is preparing to reissue the SWORD OF A PUNTA Ellen Kushner in Alamut. Ah, nothing like the smell of reissues in the morning ..

There is a rather splendid PDF of the rather splendid cover here, and a Spanish translation of the short story "Red Cloak" (the first Richard & Alec story I ever wrote, looooong before the novel) here. A PUNTA DE ESPADA went on sale on 10th Feb. They will soon be bringing out Suzy McKee Charnas' delicious THE VAMPIRE TAPESTRY. Can't say the guy doesn't have taste!

I have the first ediion of that. I still think the cover is beyond gorgeous. ♥ My edition had a black and red black, like plenty of the Bibliopolis titles, but the new edition is white at the back and has designs of snow over the blurb, connected to the cover, making it even more beautiful. :)

A few months back I was trying to get Swordspoint for a friend of mine, but couldn't find it anywhere, and in the end I settled for Provilege. He loved it, but now it makes sense that the book wasn't anywhere - they were just getting new stock. Needless to say, my friend got it, too.

Hooray, familiar fantasy in Spanish! Erm, nice of them to tell you? Do you know if it's going to be available on Amazon? I need something to tide me over until I can get my hands on ALANNA: EN MANOS DE LA DIOSA.

All 3 of the Riverside books actually already appeared from Bibliopolis in Spanish, and may still be findable on Amazon or wherever Spanish books are sold - these are just reissues. How cool that you read Spanish! If you're really desperate, give a shout - I think I have an extra copy of at least one.

Fourteen years of Spanish classes has *got* to be good for something! One of these days I'll stop being lazy and read books for which it was the original language.

Hmm...I see Thomas the Rhymer in French on Amazon, something for my roommate perhaps...and a Spanish Fall of the Kings for $60. Yipe. Well, if you don't mind, I'd love to borrow any of your Spanish Riversides some time!

I know Luis Prado (I live in Madrid). He does wonderful work and has an excellent line of books. You're in fine hands.

Wonderful! I adore Luis: met him at the Glasgow Worldcon, and spent some Quality Time last summer when he got us invited to Semana Negra. My first trip to Spain, but not, I hope, my last.
