I should say more here, but I have to go finish packing for World Fantasy Con in San Jose & SF/CA (you'll find my schedule in an earlier post), and then do my best to get to tonight's Interstitial Arts Salon run by the mad bad ktempest, who also has to pack for WFC but somehow manages to do it all, not excluding a wonderful page previewing the Auction. That child-empress of Mars piece is stunning. I mean, so are the others, but that's the one that really blows the top of my head off. So looking forward to seeing the rest!

Which one? There are 2 - Connie Toebe's box, and the stunning little sculpture, which I bet is the one you mean. Ennit? What got put up in advance was the pieces that had been quality pre-photographed by their artists . . . got a sneak preview tonight of the rest, and they're all stunning!

I meant the Washburn piece, the one with the scorpion-like structure and all the bones. Now I'm going to have to go look at the box you mention, which I won't have focused on properly because I was too busy gawking at the pink ribbon and the skeletal hands (quel surprise, right?).
