People have compared me to the Energizer Bunny.  But the truth is, as Delia once pointed out, that I have on ON switch and an OFF switch, but no Dimmer.  And today, I have either a headcold-coming-on, or that thing I get where I'm utterly convinced I'm getting a cold - sore throat, slightly runny nose, and really really tired -  which sometimes is actually a cold, but sometimes is just exhaustion masquerading as a cold so that I will be nice to it and take it to bed.  Does anyone else get this?  It happens to me a couple times a year.  I know it's not a cold when it doesn't get any worse in 24 hours.

Yes, I will take my echinacea & my zinc anyway, because who knows?  But I will Lay Low for the day, and type less if I can.

In other news:  My goddaughter-in-law (Delia's actual goddaughter, a very nice gift of her best friend from first grade), now a sophomore(?) at Wellesley, tweets that she just found this portrait of me - the one in my icon -  in Boston's MFA!  Pretty hilarious that I lived in Boston all those years, and don't think I ever saw it there - I thought it got it off the internet.  ETA:  Here she is!

Sometimes, for me, it is allergies, and for me, tis the season.
As someone who also is either ON or OFF, I hear you.
The thing is, though, if you need to languish, you really need to do so, and not fight it.

Thank you. Took your words to heart, and am all better today.

I hope you feel better soon. I always get sulky and recalcitrant when my body betrays me and I start to get sick. Mainly because for me it always, always starts with a sore throat and that may possibly be the most annoying condition of all time for me.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Sore throats are scary!

I definitely get that almost-a-cold thing. I think sometimes as you say it's exhaustion, and sometimes (especially when someone else in the family has a definite cold) I am pretty sure it's a virus that I'm basically immune to but that takes a while to fight off. (Not sure if this makes sense immunologically.)

I always thought you must have chosen the icon because she's in the Boston MFA. Hm.

I thought I was the only person who gets the exhaustion-cold thing. It's reassuring to know I'm not. You have my sympathy.

Aha! Yes, I had a feeling if I put that out there that would turn out to be the case. Most reassuring.

I'm all better today! Hope you're fine, too.
