Upstairs, Downstairs & Bordertown
Apr. 10th, 2011 04:48 pmLooking forward to the new Upstairs Downstairs tonight on PBS! This quote in the NYTimes from screenwriter Heidi Thomas also weirdly sums up our feelings as editors of the new Bordertown anthology:
One of the things that was very nerve-racking was the thought that we'd have two audiences: a new audience that wasn't even born when the first one went out and the die-hard fans who would be scrutinizing it and looking for evidence of fidelity. If we were competing with anything, we were competing with the specter of the original.
So glad everyone seems to like ours, so far!
(If there's a disgruntled hater of the new out there, I - and Miss Thomas - don't want to know about it,)
