The Swordspoint Audio Book is Up
Nov. 29th, 2011 11:21 pmThe Swordspoint Audio Book is now available on Audible.com, as part of the ACX/Neil Gaiman Presents list.
I read the entire book aloud, and occasionally actors step in to read some parts (as in the 5-minute sample up on the book's page), but a lot of it is just me (including a fair amount of Alec drawling, "Re-eallllly, Richard" and, y'know, like that). And some cool music. And some SFX.
I was going to make a big long post about this, but I just can't right now. But it's OK to only tell you this one thing and leave the rest for later, right?
More soon. Because there's more. Meanwhile, there's some backstory under the Tag: audiobook.

Date: 2011-12-01 02:55 am (UTC)My total favorite response so far, from a young woman on Twitter:
"The St. Vier in @EllenKushner & @neilhimself audio Swordspoint is a porn star/demi god of chocolatyvelvetdeliciousness"
Can't argue with that!

Date: 2011-11-30 09:04 am (UTC)I like the fact that it's not a standard, flat narration but has the sound effects and the different voices as well. I'm only on chapter 2, but I'm loving it!

Date: 2011-11-30 03:37 pm (UTC)" It's more than a normal audiobook with basic narration, but has sound effects too - a creaking door, the murmur of a crowd - with some parts dramatised, which works really well in scenes with lots of voices...."
is *precisely* the vision my producer had when she proposed this crazy scheme to me! So very, very glad it works for you.
