ellenkushnerSome of you may know that I'm working on a musical theatre piece, The Bone Chandelier, with NYC composer Ben Moore. We're hoping to have another act ready to workshop this winter; meanwhile, if you're curious about Ben's music, and live in the NY area, he's got 2 events coming up: "a cabaret evening on Sept. 24 featuring several of my songs [and] a musical/theatrical performance on Oct 10 which features the premiere of my chamber work for viola, clarinet and piano." A musical/theatrical performance to mark the launch of Shira Nayman’s book, AWAKE IN THE DARK, (Scribner)
The Brooklyn Historical Society is hosting this theatrical reading of the lead story in the book followed by a signing and book party at The Brooklyn Historical Society Museum.
The one-woman show includes the premiere of Ben Moore's chamber music for viola, clarinet and piano, written in response to the book.

The tickets are free, but you must make reservations. If you are planning to attend, we recommend that you call soon; the theater only holds 300 people, and seating will be on a first come first served basis. RSVP line is 212-632-4973.
(If you do reserve tickets but then find you are unable to attend, please call the line to cancel, as tickets are going quickly and we'd hate to turn people away and end up with empty seats due to No Shows – thanks!)
