Some of you may know that I'm working on a musical theatre piece, The Bone Chandelier, with NYC composer Ben Moore. We're hoping to have another act ready to workshop this winter; meanwhile, if you're curious about Ben's music, and live in the NY area, he's got 2 events coming up: "a cabaret evening on Sept. 24 featuring several of my songs [and] a musical/theatrical performance on Oct 10 which features the premiere of my chamber work for viola, clarinet and piano." A musical/theatrical performance to mark the launch of Shira Nayman’s book, AWAKE IN THE DARK, (Scribner)
The Brooklyn Historical Society is hosting this theatrical reading of the lead story in the book followed by a signing and book party at The Brooklyn Historical Society Museum.

The one-woman show includes the premiere of Ben Moore's chamber music for viola, clarinet and piano, written in response to the book.
