I hate being the oldest princess. You always have to be responsible and watch the younger ones, and make sure they have their shoes on before we leave, and that Serena doesn’t forget her scarf so she doesn’t catch a chill, and Imelda took her asthma medicine so she doesn’t wheeze, and Larissa has eaten properly so she doesn’t she’ll faint, and keep the twins from fighting.

And that’s just at night.

Also thrilled that D&W's teen-and-up collection of trickster tales, The Coyote Road, is finally coming out from Viking this summer, with my Jessica Campion story, "Honored Guest," in it - plus stories by an all-star cast including beloveds Elizabeth Wein, Caroline Stevermer, Pat McKillip, Ellen Klages, Dora Goss, and . . . well, here's the whole list. Kind of amazing. We're doing a reading/signing at Books of Wonder in NYC on June 9th - I'll keep you posted, or Ellen Datlow will.

Oh, that's great news all around! I'll put in a pre-order for that Coyote Road book once I get paid. I love Jessica so very much.

And where would little sisters like me be without our big sisters, I ask you? Nowhere good, that's where. Nowhere good.

She never could keep the shoes on me, though.

X3! The Shoes That Were Danced to Pieces? I love that one! ...Although my fave has always been the story about the girl whose mother died and gave her a magic al doll. :3 Is there anything like that in there?
